What's Your Reason WHY?

Getting motivated can be easy, but keeping that motivation is a different story. But with a concrete “why” that solidifies your fitness journey. So the question still remains the same, “what’s your reason why”?

The reason why you are doing this is not because it is your goal. That will never work. If you are the reason why you are chasing this fitness goal, you are going to let yourself down each and every time you get a chance. Deep down inside it is completely easy for us to lie to ourselves. We will find a way to let her ourselves down at every opportunity. But, if you have someone who is counting on you, depending on you, needs you to succeed, that's a bigger reason to keep pushing yourself.

Maybe your goal is to be able to go to the beach, wear a bikini, and feel confident that you are rocking the fuck out of that two piece. Or maybe you’re a man who wants to go to the beach and feel comfortable taking off your shirt, or get in the pool without a t-shirt. It doesn't matter what your why is you need to hone in on it and commit to yourself and commit to it. Your why could be your child that is watching you constantly.

Your why can definitely change throughout your journey so don’t feel like it is a forever thing. The main goal is to know why you're doing it and go obtain that goal.

Need a little help?

  1. Start with answering this simple question. Why do you want to lose weight? (e.g., I want to look good at the beach.)

  2. Draw it out: What does that look like to you? How would your life be different? How would you feel? What would change about you as a person? (e.g., I would wear more form fitting clothes.)

  3. Own it. Go back through Steps 1 & 2 and the question again, “Why do I want to lose weight?” Sit down and really think about it and answer it as detailed as possible and keep it personal to you and your situation.

Now that you have your reason why, key in on them, and keep them close to you. Write them down, say them out loud, and keep a reminder of why you are trying to lose weight. This is the fuel to your motivation and your inspiration, this why you are on your journey.

I want to leave you with this quote from my sister in law:
